Ark Valley Orthotics and Prosthetics is a locally owned and operated company dedicated to providing the finest, most comprehensive care for you, the patient.  We are constantly upgrading our skills and educating ourselves in the newest methods and technologies available to better serve you.  Our goal is to provide items and services that have a positive impact on people's lives.

Jason Tanner graduated from the University of Washington in Seattle with a degree in Prosthetics/Orthotics.  He then completed a two year residency at the University of Oklahoma Medical Center in Oklahoma City.  He served seven years as a facility manager for Becker Orthopedic at a level one trauma center in Detroit, Michigan.

His Orthotic and Prosthetic experience in the Wichita area is unmatched with extensive experience in lower extremity prosthetics, pediatrics, trauma, scoliosis, and neurological etiologies.  He is a published author in the Journal of Prosthetics and Orthotics (JPO) and is trained, certified and experienced in the most updated technology available for Orthotics and Prosthetics.  Presently, he is a board examiner for the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics, and Pedorthics.


Ian Burford is an American Board for Certification (ABC) certified prosthetist and board-eligible orthotist who was first exposed to Prosthetics and Orthotics by his grandfather who uses a transfemoral prosthesis. After graduating with his undergraduate degree in Bioengineering from Wichita State University, Ian went on to earn his AAS degree in Orthotic & Prosthetic Technologies from Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology as well as his Master’s degree in Prosthetics & Orthotics from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Afterwards, he completed his Prosthetics research residency at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab and his Orthotics residency at Ark Valley Orthotics & Prosthetics. Ian enjoys being able to be creative with hands-on fabrication while helping others regain their independence. His experience includes lower and upper extremity prosthetics, myoelectric componentry, Myopro orthoses, and pediatrics. In his free time, Ian enjoys traveling, baking, and learning new languages.

Kristi Church

Kristi Church started her journey with us in 2015. She enjoys the interaction with the patients and helping their experience here at AVOP be the best it could possibly be. Kristi's main focus is insurance and billing. She enjoys the challenge of working with the many insurance companies and making the billing as painless for our patients as possible.
